SERVICE GUIDE

Human Field Response

When an autonomous vehicle needs someone physically there.

The work behind the category

Some interruptions need a person at the vehicle, even when no workshop repair is involved. This category is intended for authorized physical assistance and condition checks, with a clearly defined handoff to the fleet operator. It is a distinct part of the future service network, not a promise of live dispatch today.

Services to look for

  • Blocked-sensor checks
  • Debris removal
  • Stuck door or trunk assistance
  • Lost-item recovery
  • Snow or ice clearing
  • Minor physical reset
  • Post-incident inspection
  • Vehicle condition checks

Before choosing a provider

  • Who authorizes the visit and defines the permitted physical tasks?
  • How are identity, vehicle access, passenger property, and condition records handled?
  • When should the responder stop and escalate to the operator or a specialist?

Field response is not permission to bypass vehicle controls, interfere with autonomous systems, or perform unapproved repairs. Availability and task authorization must be established for each job.
